How long does it take to transcribe an audio file?
A few minutes for most recordings; longer ones take a little more. The result shows up on the same page as soon as it is ready.
What audio formats do you support?
Audio: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, OPUS (WhatsApp voice notes), FLAC, AAC, WebM, AMR, AIFF, CAF and WMA. Video: MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, AVI and 3GP (we use the audio track). Maximum file size is 500 MB.
How accurate are the transcriptions?
No automatic transcript is perfect. What makes the biggest difference is the recording: with clear audio and little background noise, the text needs very little editing. We always recommend reviewing it.
Do I need a subscription?
No. VOCAP sells one-time packs of transcription hours, from €2.99 for 1 hour. There is nothing to cancel and no renewals, and your hours do not expire.
What happens to my audio?
Your audio is only used to transcribe it and is deleted from our servers once it is done. To transcribe and analyze it, the audio and the text go through OpenAI’s and Anthropic’s services. Your account keeps the transcript and its analysis, not the audio. More details in the Privacy Policy.
