Sources and confidentiality
The audio you upload is only used to transcribe it and is deleted from our servers when done. To transcribe and analyse it, the audio goes through OpenAI and the text through Anthropic, two US providers. Your account, protected by your login, keeps the transcript and its analysis, not the audio. If you agreed to off-the-record terms with a source, keep that in mind before uploading the recording.
Frequently asked questions
How well does it handle different accents?
With clear audio the text comes out clean with any accent. With several people talking at once, noise or uncommon proper names, errors can appear. Always review the passages you plan to quote.
Can I trust 100% the quotes it extracts?
Not fully, the same way you would not trust 100% a human transcription. For quotes going literally into the article, check the passage against the audio. AI can fail on proper names, technical terms, or when there is background noise.
Does it work with Zoom or Teams interviews?
Yes. Download the recording (MP4 or M4A) and upload it. VOCAP extracts the audio and transcribes it.
Is there a free option?
You get 15 minutes free on signup. After that, packs from €1.99 per hour, no subscription.
Does it identify speakers?
No. The transcript comes out as continuous text, without separating who says what. You add labels ("Interviewer", "Minister") on review.
What happens with off-the-record recordings?
The audio is deleted from our servers when done, but to transcribe it the audio goes through OpenAI and the text through Anthropic, and the transcript stays in your account. If you agreed on confidentiality with a source, consider whether to upload that recording.
