Turn lectures, interviews and fieldwork into searchable text and automatic summaries. Study faster, build thesis on solid data.
As a student the problem is not lack of information but time to process it. VOCAP transcribes a 90-minute lecture in five minutes, generates a summary and leaves the text ready to search. Also perfect for qualitative thesis interviews, focus groups and fieldwork. No subscription: you only pay when you need it.
While you write one idea, the professor is two slides ahead. Incomplete notes = incomplete exam.
If the class was not recorded, you depend 100% on your notes. If recorded, reviewing it takes 90 minutes for each 90 recorded.
Qualitative research with 8-15 long interviews becomes unbearable when you have to transcribe by hand before you can analyze.
Human transcription costs $80-200 per audio hour. Unaffordable for a thesis with 15 interviews.
Record the lecture (with professor permission) and get searchable text plus summary. Study by reviewing text, not audio.
Transcribe qualitative interviews for research. Code the text in MAXQDA, NVivo, Atlas.ti or just in Word.
Upload the focus group recording and get text with timestamps and summary, ready for analysis.
Just out of class. Dictate to yourself for 5 minutes what you remember and VOCAP structures it as notes.
Transcribe podcasts in German, French or English to read and listen at the same time. Speeds up listening comprehension.
1h costs 1.99 EUR. For a thesis with 10 interviews of 1.5h (15h), you spend ~14.99 EUR. No subscription.
English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese... Useful for language students, Erasmus or exchange students.
Each transcript includes summary, key points and important concepts. Useful for quick review before exam.
Find the exact minute of any explanation. Useful for returning to audio when something was unclear.
Only pay when you need it. An intense exam month and then nothing until the next one.
Upload from mobile on your way home. The transcript is ready when you arrive.
With your phone, a cheap recorder, or Zoom/Teams if the class is online.
A 1.5h class is ready in 5 minutes. A 1h interview, in 3.
For exam: read the summary and search concepts. For thesis: copy quotes with timestamp into your analytical framework.
You are responsible for obtaining permission to record lectures (some universities regulate it) and to interview thesis subjects (informed consent per your faculty ethics code). VOCAP deletes the audio from the server after processing and keeps only text in your account. We do not use the data to train AI. This lets you comply with confidentiality agreed with interviewees.
Depends on number of interviews. For a typical qualitative thesis (8-12 interviews of 45-60 min, ~10h total) you spend around 14.99 EUR with the 12h pack. Much cheaper than any human service (80-200 EUR/h) and good enough quality for qualitative coding.
Generally yes for personal use, but some universities restrict it and many professors ask for permission. Ask before recording. For online classes (Zoom/Teams) that the professor records themselves, there is no issue in transcribing that recording.
Yes. Export the text as TXT or PDF and import into your qualitative analysis software. Timestamps let you return to the audio when you need to verify intonation or pauses.
Pay-as-you-go is already the cheapest market option for small volumes. For special discounts (student associations, large thesis groups) contact us.
We do not transcribe live. But you upload the recording as soon as class ends and 5 minutes later you have text. In practice it is near-instant.
It works, but accuracy drops. A phone at the back of a large amphitheater with echo gives worse results than a phone 2 meters from the professor. For important classes record as close as possible.
