How it is calculated
VOCAP works with one-time hour packs: you pay for the hours you transcribe, not a monthly subscription, and the hours never expire. The per-hour price drops with pack size: €1.99/h on the 1-hour pack and €1/h on the 30-hour pack. The calculator finds the cheapest combination of packs that covers your duration. If your audio is under 15 minutes, the free minutes you get on signup cover it.

How much does it cost to transcribe 1 hour with VOCAP?
Between €1.99 and €1 depending on the pack. With the 1-hour pack (€1.99) you pay exactly what you use; with the 30-hour pack (€29.99) an hour costs €1.
Is it cheaper than human transcription?
Yes, between 7 and 90 times cheaper. Budget human transcription is around €15 per hour; professional human transcription (legal, medical) goes up to €60-90 per hour. With VOCAP an hour costs between €1 and €1.99.
And compared with Otter, Rev or Descript?
Otter.ai Pro is about €17/month with a 20-hour monthly quota (€0.85/h if you use all of it, more if you don't). Descript Creator is about €24/month with 10h. Rev AI: about USD 15/h. VOCAP is pay-per-use with no subscription: your hours never expire.
Do VOCAP hours expire?
No. They are one-time packs: once bought, they never expire. Use them whenever you need.
Is there a volume discount?
Yes, automatic. The larger the pack, the lower the per-hour price: €1.99 on the 1-hour pack, €1.60 on the 5-hour, €1.25 on the 12-hour and €1 on the 30-hour pack.
What if I only need to transcribe 30 minutes?
The first 15 minutes are free: you get them when you sign up, no credit card. For the rest, the 1-hour pack (€1.99) is more than enough, and the minutes you do not use stay in your account.
How are hours counted?
By the actual duration of the audio, not by transcribed words or processing time. A 47-minute recording uses 0.78 hours of your balance.
